Hi, I’m D. The D stands for Detail.
I am a travel aficionado, hospitality expert, sales and marketing veteran; shoe enthusiast, adrenaline junkie, motorbike maniac – and crazy about details. After all, it’s the smallest details that make the biggest differences. I know it sounds cheesy but it’s as true as it gets.
With more than 20 years experience in luxury hospitality sales, marketing, and management I spent 2009-2012 curating Kiwi Collection’s 2500+ luxury hotels, traveling nearly 200 days a year to review and rate some of the world’s most iconic hotels around the globe. Those were my traveling years and this blog was born during that time to document some of the most amazing experiences I was fortunate to have.
Why Details Matter?
In a luxury hotel (or any other entity for that matter) attention to detail is the most important differentiator. It applies to every division, department, outlet, team and every single person. It is the basis for exceptional service and a memorable guest experience. You can only excel if your attention to detail is spot on.
D for Detail is a collection of those moments where the details were perfectly right: a delicious cup of coffee in Dresden, an amazing breakfast in Mauritius, a breathtaking tour in Morocco, a rare discovery in London, a fascinating sunrise in Tulum, or an emotional connection in Paris – these were moments I will treasure forever. I hope you will enjoy reading them as much as I enjoyed writing them.
While I still enjoy collecting memories and experiences, I have not written about them anymore lately, hence the lack of new posts since 2016.
